Matt King – born into a musical family – started playing guitar when he was 12 and has been playing professionally since the age of 14. He has performed and/or recorded with Scarefactory, Barney Rebel, Midnight Radio, The Funk King Band, Gonzo, Kevin MacLean, Astrid Young, Harrison Kennedy (appearing on the Juno-nominated “Shame The Devil”) and most recently the band Masheen.
Over the last few years he has taken on the role of solo acoustic guitarist/vocalist, plays in The Duo with Scott Apted, and is a sideman for a number of local artists in Southern Ontario.
Scott Apted started playing the drums in 1985. In 1989 while he attended Humber College for Radio Broadcasting, he met several musicians he would later play in bands with. He joined a band that opened for Max Webster at the Oakville Waterfront Festival, and Government Mule at the Opera House in Toronto. “Burning Bridges” also played every Wednesday night for two and a half years at The Grove in Port Credit ON.
Music has allowed him to see most of Canada. Touring as the drummer with The Radically Hip and Adam’s Rib, he played from Ontario to Whistler, British Columbia, making stops in Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver and many more along the way.
He has opened for Rompin’ Ronny Hawkins, Kim Mitchell, David Wilcox and played before a Buffalo Bills game. Mike Montgomery, Wayne Deadder and Scott, have kept the Beat Heathens band alive as they are playing gigs all over Ontario to this day, including The St. George Pub!
