While most active recently in Canada as a two-man, one-man-band using foot-controlled instruments to create the sound of a much larger ensemble, Frog & Henry was formed in New Orleans as an eight-piece street performing band in 2013 from members of the Loose Marbles, The Drunken Catfish Ramblers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Haret, and more recently members of the Happy Pals.

Common iterations of the group now feature two members playing a foot-controlled tuba, a pedal-operated upright bass, and a device for playing cornet and guitar simultaneously behind vocals, clarinet, and trombone.frog 3 The group contains at least two members and up to 8 or 10, depending on the availability and location of its members and the requirements of the venue. Each show is different from the next.

Playing mostly early American popular music: early Jazz, Blues, Rags, Jug Band, Stringband – with attempts at some early Calypso, Cuban, and Mexican music lately.
