David Storey CD Release – Silvercreek Coffee House Open Mic Finale, Roots/Folk/Rock, Friday, July 3 at 7 pm

This Friday, July 3 will be the final “Georgetown Musictown Open Mic” at the
Silvercreek Coffee House. Host Joe Mancuso will mark the occasion with a CD
Release Party for David Storey‘s just released CD “Coming Home”.

David has become a fixture on the Toronto singer songwriter scene playing live, weekly, at clubs and coffee houses across the city. He has just released an all original 5 song EP entitled Movin On. If there is one word to describe David and his writing it is character. His simple rootsy songs feature small time heroes, losers looking for a second chance and wannabe badasses coming to terms with reality. They include tales of love, the gentle humor of family life, the irony of growing old and the paradox of living in our hyper-wired world.

“There is a lot of humor in the lyrics, depicting the challenges of everyday life in a very unromanticized way. You don’t always know whether to laugh or pity Storey’s stories, because they very well may be your own.”  Canada In Tune Magazine

Joe will open the show at 7 pm, David will play selections from the new CD
beginning at 8 pm, and open mic completes the evening beginning at 9 pm.
