Low Country Hill, Roots Rock and Americana, Uncorked on Main, Friday, June 12 at 9 pm

Low Country Hill is Paul Hogeterp, and on this night he is performing with a special guest guitarist. Paul is a musician and long-time resident of Hamilton, Ontario.  For nearly a decade, he was a co-writer and fiddle player in the Canadian Celtic/Roots indie band The Immigrants, a group that enjoyed an active touring and recording career from the mid 1990s until 2003.  In November 2014, Paul released his debut solo record under the moniker Low Country Hill.  Recorded by Dave King at his lovely barn-turned-studio on the outskirts of Hamilton, the record features a cast of talented compadres, family and guest musicians including Pat Sansone of Wilco and Bill Dillon (Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel).

“Truly a product of its environment…Low Country Hill features sonic sculptures with a sense of experimentation but grounded with heart and soul, and evokes the subdued comforts of a warm abode amidst a cold, punishing but beautiful landscape.” – Kent Heberling, Those Who Dig

Currently, Paul is exploring opportunities to play solo shows in unique and intimate venues across Canada. For listening samples and other information about Low Country Hill please go to: http://www.lowcountryhill.com/home
