The soothing sounds of Steve Melville’s jazz guitar layered over his Country, Latin, Traditional, Ballad and Jazz tracks – a relaxing musical backdrop to the fine dining experience offered by Georgetown, Ontario’s “The Cellar“. With just a hint of Lenny Breau, Steve shares his music every Saturday night from 6-10 pm.
He picked up guitar at the age of 15 in his native Jamaica, guided and encouraged by the expert hand of legendary Ska pioneer Ernest Ranglin. (Photo L-R: Jamaica natives Monty Alexander, Ernest Ranglin and Steve Melville).
Steve also performs at local events, and has a second weekly stint on Tuesdays from 6-9 pm at Georgetown’s Uncorked on Main, a tapas style wine and cocktail lounge. Having retired from Air Canada 20 years ago, Steve has since applied his time and energy to becoming the guitarist that showed so much potential as a youth. Air Canada’s gift to the local live music scene!
