Failte originated from a casual collection of musicians in the autumn of 1991 in Waterloo. Failte (pronounced “fall-cha”) means welcome in Irish. Currently the group consists of original member, Stephen Todd (vocals, bodhran, and tin whistle) as well as Jessica Weiler (fiddle, vocals), and Brian Crozier (guitar, vocals). The band plays traditional Celtic music with a Canadian attitude. Set lists include slow airs, ballads, jigs and reels from Ireland, Scotland and Canada.
Kev Morse writes from experience, sings from the heart and plays the guitar like it was meant for him to play. An evening spent listening to Kev play his guitar and sing his songs is like an evening spent with an old friend. His songs reach out, grab you, they hold on tight and they stay with you.
