Recommended – Unless, Adult Alternative, The Bistro at Silvercreek, Friday, July 18 at 8 pm

‘Unless’ is the new band name for Sheri Tenaglia, Peter Perko, Jessie Steinberg and Adam Farr. bayouTheir sound is hypnotic and straight out of the Bayou with didgeridoo, whining harmonica and an ultra cool low tempo. Or maybe you’ll conjure Mississipi in the middle of a dry spell as the music begs for a sweltering summer night. This is a good show.

Neil Cotton and Hawk’s Nest, Country Rock, McGibbon Hotel, Friday, July 18 at 9:30 pm

Hawks-Nest-600-2Guess who’s back at The Gib … our own Neil Cotton and Hawk’s Nest. Named after rockabilly hero Ronnie Hawkins, the band proudly bears the country rock banner.

Neil took his first music lesson (lap-steel) when he was 8 years old but didn’t take up performing until he was 27. He has been with three bands over the years, and we’re lucky to call him one of our own. Pop in and tip your cap to a local music legend.
