CANADA DAY IN THE GLEN 2018
THE DUCK RACE IS ON THIS YEAR!! – We posted LAST year’s description of events in error previously, the race is in fact NOT cancelled – YAY! Our apologies for the confusion.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
8 – 10.30 am: Glen Williams Community Association Breakfast in the Park – served at the Food Booth
9 am – 5 pm: Shuttle buses between Real Canadian Superstore and Glen Williams
9 – 2 pm: Bubble Tent – Back Ball Diamond
9.30 – 11 am: History of Glen Williams Treasure Hunt – Front Ball Diamond
9.30 – 10.30 am: Baseball Game, Townies vs. The Hamlet Home Team – Front Ball Diamond. All are Welcome To Participate – No Experience Needed!
9.30 – 10.10am: Yoga in the Park – Back Ball Diamond
10 – 4 pm: Live Music All Day! – At The Gazebo
10 am: Historical Walking Tour – meet at Williams Mill Upper Parking Lot
10 – 3 pm: Children’s Activities and Face Painting – under the trees in the park
10 – 4 pm: Craft Vendors – in the Gazebo Field
10.10 – noon: Drumming Circle – Back Ball Diamond
11.00 – 11.45 am: The Tradition Band – upper level of Williams Mill
Noon: PARADE starts at noon in the Beaver and Erin Street neighbourhood of Glen Williams.
Followed by the Opening Ceremonies at the Gazebo: Indigenous blessing; O Canada; presentation of the Citizen of the Year award; and cutting of the Canada Day cake.
1 – 3 pm: Seniors Strawberries and Tea – Town Hall
1.30 – 2 pm: Cake Walk – Front Ball Diamond
1.30 pm: Morris Men – Gazebo
2 – 2.30 pm: Magic Show – Front Ball Field
2 – 2.30 pm: Rampulla Martial Arts demonstration – Back Ball Field
2.15 – 2.45 pm: Ambition Performing Arts Centre – Front Ball Diamond
2.30 – 3.30 pm: Glen Pet Show – Front Ball Diamond
3 – 3.30 pm: Georgetown Gymnastics Club – Back Ball Diamond
4 pm: Duck Race
6.30 pm: BBQ & Concert with Caitlin Claessens – Saint Alban’s Church

7.30pm: Candlelit Church – Saint Alban’s Church. Between the bustle of the BBQ and the BOOM of the Fireworks, find a moment of peace and calm in Candlelit Church.
Dusk: Fireworks – Saint Alban’s Church parkette. A freewill donation bucket is on hand, to help defray the cost of the fireworks.

Glen Williams Road Closures: All roads into the Glen will be closed at 11.30 am. NO TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE GLEN BETWEEN 11.30 AM AND 1.30 PM
Parking: There is very limited parking in the Glen; FREE parking is available at the Real Canadian Superstore. There are 3 FREE shuttle buses operating between the Superstore and the Glen between the hours of 9 am and 5pm. PLEASE use the Superstore parking and shuttle buses!
