Lauren Knowles has been a working musician for many years. She got her start singing mostly Jazz, at the age of 17. She even performed in the renowned Montreal Jazz Festival. Though she had been a singer/songwriter throughout all of her teen years, Lauren wrote and released her first full-length album with a Toronto Rockabilly band in 2008.
In early 2009 Lauren teamed up with Toronto Top 40 band The Cry Babies, this took her all over Ontario performing in many favorable hotels and resorts in Ontario’s beautiful cottage country including regular visits to Horseshoe Valley and the Northwood Inn.
In 2011 Lauren started her own band with former Cry Babies Singer/Guitar player Carmen Lamont. Dualing Diva’s worked steadily all over the GTA as a duo and four piece Pop Rock band, playing such venues as The Bier Market, Foinn MacCools, Scruffy Murphy’s even travelling to many beach and ski resorts. Wanting to expand her horizons Lauren joined P&O Australia and started her first cruise ship contract with fellow Dualing Diva Carmen.
After her four month contract on the Pacific Dawn, Lauren was recruited by the ships saxophonist Antonio Olivio Ruiz to accompany him as a DJ and vocalist. This new duo was Soul Project, performing a wide variety of genres including Jazz, Chill out, RnB, Motown and Funk.
Lauren Knowles is a versatile singer, who welcomes all styles of music to her repertoire, and can also accompany herself as a guitar player.
