The Georgetown Celtic Fiddle Orchestra is performing on Saturday, June 6th at 7 pm at Union Presbyterian Church. If you missed the Spring Concert this is a great opportunity to see the orchestra before they take a break for the summer.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the church. Here is a link to the church website for contact information: http://www.unionpresbyterian.ca
The orchestra is an Academy of Music program designed for fiddlers, violinists, guitarists, mandolin players, accordionists and flautists in Georgetown Ontario and the surrounding area to learn and perform traditional Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Under the direction of James Franczek they play several sets of traditional Celtic tunes and perform in concert at various times of the year ( Spring concert, Celtic Festivals, etc ). James is also the founder and music director for the Oakville Celtic Fiddle Orchestra.
Musicians work in an orchestra style setting while they play their music together. This orchestra is for musicians and music students aged 12 years and up that have been playing for at least 2 years. It’s also a great opportunity to learn new music and work on becoming stronger musicians.
