CABARET, Globe Productions, John Elliott Theatre, Late November, $27

Set in the Kit Kat Klub in Berlin during the 1930’s, Cabaret unveils a twisted relationship between a young writer, Cliff Bradshaw, and the hottest club dancer, Sally Bowles. Amidst their love story, Hitler rises to power and life in Germany takes a dark turn.

Cabaret has been performed over 1100 times on Broadway and has won numerous Tony Awards. The film version starring Lisa Minnelli and Michael York won eight Oscars. Cabaret was the highlight of the Shaw Festival this year but trust, under the direction of Danny Harvey, our Cabaret will be much better. Recommended for ages 15+
