In its sixth summer, three musical soirees are being offered at the concert salon of 157 Main Street in Old Downtown Georgetown. Each evening is complete with wonderful music followed by light summer receptions, a great way to spend your warm summer Tuesday evenings.The programme for the concerts this summer varies dramatically, including piano solos and duo works for voice/violin and piano. Concert No. 2 on August 5th will showcase Georgetown’s own Thomas Dobrovich who placed 2nd at the Canadian Music Competition in Quebec city this past June in the 19 year old and under age category, and also placed first in the “Symphony on the Bay” Concerto competition.Together with the ‘Greidonian’ Symphony orchestra, Maestro Dobrovich will enchant you in a deep dark rendition of Rachmaninoff’s swirling yet melodic Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor. Works of Chopin and Beethoven will also be played at this concert.
Tickets are $30 and are on sale at Foodstuffs in Old Downtown Georgetown 89 Main Street South. All concerts will begin at 8 pm.
